Project Overview

Tech Tablet 2.0 is a responsive field-operations platform that connects Verizon dispatch managers and on-site technicians within one shared system. Managers triage outages, monitor real-time workload, and dispatch jobs from a territory dashboard, while technicians receive prioritized work orders, sunlight-ready job details, and AI-assisted diagnostics on tablet and mobile. Designed across desktop, tablet, and phone, it reduces mean-time-to-repair, lifts first-time-fix rates, and turns six disconnected tools into a single, daylight-legible workflow.

Field Technician

Field technicians begin each day by reviewing the jobs assigned to them on Tech Tablet. On-site, they pull up network and equipment details, navigate between locations with built-in routing, and rely on the high-visibility Sunlight mode to read the screen in direct daylight. When a fault proves tricky, they message nearby technicians, sharing diagnostics and photos to resolve issues faster and close jobs assigned to them.

Every context switch costs minutes; in aggregate it costs 15–25% of a technician's productive day — and customers wait longer for fixes.

Techn Manager

Managers oversee their territory from a single dashboard, monitoring open jobs, SLA risk, and live network outages across the region. They track each technician's location, workload, and availability, then dispatch and reassign jobs to balance coverage and meet deadlines. Throughout the day they triage P1 incidents, approve escalations, message technicians for status, and review performance metrics to keep field operations running smoothly.

Great service isn't dispatched it's coordinated.
